With her black bikini and loose white shawl, Michelle Rodriguez looked her usual stunning self as she lounged by the pool in Cannes yesterday.

But her chic look was slightly marred by her choice of loud grey and white patterned trousers which looked a little unflattering.

Perhaps the 32-year-old actress was opting for comfort over style as she took holiday photographs of her friends who were swimming at the exclusive Eden Roc Hotel in Cannes.

The actress has been in Cannes for more than a week, attending festival red carpet events and also enjoying some vacation time.

With the festival ending last weekend, Michelle is clearly enjoying her extended break.

She has also been partying in the town - last week she was spotted leaving hot spot The VIP Room, looking a little worse for wear.

The actress made her name in films Fast & Furious and Avatar, before recently taking the lead role alongside Aaron Eckhart in Battle: Los Angeles, about an alien invasion in the city.

But she is happy with her reputation as a tough girl actress.

’I don’t mind it because I did manifest my own destiny. It’s my fault because I don’t like weak women and I don’t find it interesting to play them,’ she told Collider.com.

’I don’t find it intriguing, as far as being in the business and working. It’s not my thing. There’s something about strength that I really admire.’

This year, she’ll be seen in dark teen comedy Blacktino; alongside Adrien Brody in Underground Comedy and is also rumoured to be starring in thriller The Home.
